Description
This is a very popular herb with
Aromatherapists as it possesses a pretty fragrance. As well as having a nice scent, the
herb also possesses wonderful medicinal properties and can also be used near clothes to keep the
moths away.
Herbalists prescribe lavender tea and the
essential oil of lavender, both made from the plant's blue-violet flowers, to treat common
minor ailments such as insomnia, headaches, nausea, and flatulence.
Lavender has a calming and soothing effect
that relieves anxiety and promotes relaxation. Its fragrance is thought to stimulate
mental processes and help alleviate depression. Lavender oil is an antiseptic as well and
consequently it is used for skin problems such as fungus, burns, wounds, eczema, and acne.
