S-26 AR is a thickened formula specially designed for babies who are experiencing reflux. S-26 AR requires special mixing instructions.
Having a baby with feeding problems can be distressing. Help is available - you should always consult your health care professional for advice.
From birth - S-26 AR can be given to your formula-fed baby from birth. It contains a special ingredient that thickens when it reaches your bay's tummy. This helps to keep the formula down. To make feeding easier, use a 'cross-cut' or 'fast flow' teat.
6-24 months: S-26 AR can continue to be given to older babies with reflux. It is recommended that solid foods be introduced to your baby's diet from 6 months of age.
Instructions
- Always wash and dry hands before preparing formula. Wash bottles, teats, caps and knife.
- After washing, sterilise by boiling for 5 minutes. Keep bottles capped until use.
- Boil fresh drinking water for 5 minutes. Allow to cool completely. Consult feeding guide on can for quantities of water and formula.
- Prepare each bottle or cup individually. Pour in cold pre-boiled water.
- Fill the provided scoop with S-26 AR and level off with knife. Always add 1 scoop (8.5g) per 60mL water.
- Cap bottle and shake, or stir cup. Test temperature on wrist before feeding. Discard any unfinished feeds.
- Use contents of can within 4 weeks of opening. Keep can closed with plastic lid and store in a cool, dry place (eg pantry).
Warnings
Breast milk is best for babies. Before you decide to use this product, consult your doctor or health worker for advice.
Follow instructions exactly. Prepare bottles and teats as directed. Do not change proportions of powder except on medical advice. Incorrect preparation can make your baby very ill. S-26 AR is not suitable for general use and should be used under medical supervision.
Ingredients
Skimmed milk, vegetable oils [palm, coconut, oleic (sunflower or safflower) and soybean], lactose, precooked starch, corn syrup solids, soy lecithin, L-cysteine hydrochloride, taurine, nucleotides (cytidine-5'-monophosphate, disodium uridine-5'monophosphate, adenosine-5'-monophosphate, disodium inosine-5'-monophosphate, disodium guanosine-5'-monophosphate).
Minerals: Potassium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, ferrous, zinc, copper and manganese sulphates, potassium iodide, sodium selenite.
Vitamins: Vit C, choline chloride, vit E, niacin, calcium pantothenate, vit A, vit B2, vit B1, vit B6, natural beta-carotene, folate, vit K, biotin, vit D3, vit B12.
S-26 AR protein source is skimmed milk. It has the thickening agent, pre-cooked cornstarch, added to the formulation. Contains milk and soy lecithin.
